Fricdlander Brothers, of Ashburton. to load grain at Lyttelton for the United Kingdom or Continent of Europe. Captain Louis Michel expects that discharging operations will be completed at Wellington >>y Friday next, and the barque will then take in ballakt, leaving about the 14th Inst. for Lyttelton. It is expected that the yen.el will get away about the end of the month, probably- to FaliuoutJi for orders. KIA ORA, FROM LOXDOX. It Is expected that tbc Shaw-SavM liner Kla Ora, from London, will leave Auckland for Gisborne some time to-day. Tlie steamer will load at the latter port, and come subsequently to Wellington with the residue of her London cargo. It will probably be Saturday next before the vessel arrives at Wellington. SUSSEX LEFT LIVERPOOL. A cable message received by the New Zealand and African St«am Sldp Company states that the Federal-Hoiilder-Shire liner Sussex left Liverpool on Saturday, the 2nd inst.. for Sydney and the usual ports in New Zealand. The vessel is due at Wellington about the 7th June. THE IOKIC. An alteration has been made in the loading arrangements of the Shaw-Savill liner lonic. She will leave Lyttelton shortly for Picton. and after loading a quantity of meat at tho latter port comes on to Wellington, instead of returning to Lyttelton. The steamer is due here on Thursday, and «ill leave a«ain on Saturday for Lyttelton for a day or two. She subsequently returns to Wellington to complete loading, and will sail for London via the usual ports on the 21st April. NIWAKU ARRIVES. An early arrival this morning was the Tyser liner Niwaru. from London via Australia, Auckland, and Napier. The vessel made a smart run down from Napier, and as tbc sea was calm clio reeled off a good 13.3 knots an hour. The steamer berthed at No. 16. Jervois-quay, to discharge about 1000 tons of London cargo, and on Thursday morning will remove to the Glasgow or King's Wharf to load a quantity of frozen moat, after which the Niwaru will leave on Sattt.il.iy for i;risbane. Sydney, and* Melbourne to load for London. Captain H. Hollis I* still in command, and has associated with him the following office™ : —Chief, Mr 8. C. Cottcll (late WhakaniiO; second, Mr W. G. The vessel subsequently proceed* to Sydney, Auckland, and Wellington, making a call en ronte at Napier, to discharge Liverpool cargo. Her ! arrival at this port is looked for about the end of the present month. NEW BLACKBALL COLLIER. There appears to be some doubt row ai to the name which is to be given to the Blackball Coal Company's new coll-tr. It was understood that the name Ngawaka had teen decided upon, but subsequent .vi'i'f do not confirm tins. Probably definite Information from Home will be available within the next few weeks. The new boat, which will be almost a sister ship to the company's collier Ngahere. will be ready hi May, and should reach New Zealand waters about the end of July. She will have a full-poop, and the messroom will be on the starboard side, instead of on the port side, as in the case of the Ngahere. This room will be somewhat larger than the Ngahere's. Captain Dinner's eldest son, wlio has been in the Blackball Company's service for some time, will come out in the new steamer as chief officer. A telegram from Farewell Spit advises that the barquentine St. Hilda passed cast for Wellincton at 1 p.m. yesterday. The vessel sailed from Newcastle on the 7th March with a cargo ot hardwood, but has probably met with ■=omo rough weather since. The barquentine will posMbly put in an appearance some time to-day. j The Manawatu bar is causing somo delay in coastal shipping. On Saturday 'the Queen of the Sou Ui, inward bound from Wellington, grounded on the bar. At the time the vessel was prjtticall} empty and drawing only Cft 6in, but blie remained fast until Sunday ■ morning, when hhe uot off safely and proceeded to Foxton. The tidet are particularly unfa\our ible, and there are doubts as to the vessel being able to get out on her return trip to Wellington. The Gertie, fully laden, is at present waiting in Wellington foe favourable news from Foxton. The Corinna will not sail from Wellington to-morrow, but instead will leave for Picton and bouthcrn ports to-night. Yesterday afternoon the schooner Clyde ran her jibboom against the Blackball Coal Company's coal hulk Blackwall, moored near the powder ground. The schooner's Jibboom wan snapped on*, and she wfft he fitted with a j new one by Messrs W. Wood and Son. The ! hulk was not damaged. The Union Company's cargo carrier Wanaka is to load at the Bluff on Monday and at Oaraaru and Timaru on the two following days. The steamer then sails for Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland. Yesterday or to-day the turret-deck collier Koromiko was to leave Auckland for Westport, where the will load coal for the Admiralty at Hobart. The Waiporl was to leave Kalpara this morning for Melbourne and Sydney. The Clan Macfarlane, which left Napier on "-'> 15th January with wool, arrhed at London on the 10th March, two days after the opening of the London March wool sales. Tho passage occupied 53 da\k. On Thursday the Canterbury Steam Ship Company's s.s. Breeze is due here from southern ports, and on Friday the Storm should arrive fro-n Wanganui. The Koroata, now in Wellington, will leave on Wednesday for Wcstport to load again for this port. The Te Anau, which is due in Wellington from Timaru this evening, will sail again tomorrow for New Plymouth. West port, and Grey mouth. The Rosamond will not call at Not Plymouth as the Te Anau will take all .-nailable cargo at that port. There is to be an alteration in the running of the schooner Ysabel, which trades between Auckland and the Friendly IMand?. Two outline islands in the Tonjian proup— Keppels and Nmafou— were formerly visited, but in future Captain P.oss will not call at these places.
