Shortly after 3 o'clock this morning a two-f-toned seven-roomed house in Van-guard-Blicc-t, owned by William Childs, and occupied by William Stanley, «oapmaker, was gutted by fire, which started pioumedly fiom the explosion of a l;eioM?ne lamp which had been left burning. Veiy little was saved, but the surrounding buildings were not damaged. The family, which had been nbicnt camping, returned only yesteiday.
