JUNIOR CADETS.
The Officer Commanding the Junior Cadets (Major T. W. M' Donald) i* issuing to all beadteachers of schools, public and private, in which there are boys a circular asking for a return of all boys attending the school who were eleven years of age and over at the end of last year*, and the names of male teachers who are recommended for officers, and other information necessary for the carrying into effect of the provisions of the Defence Act so far as they relate to junior cadets. The next step after the receipt of the information will be the formation of a unit according to the establishment laid down in the regulation* recently issued.
From Wednesday next the early Kilbirnie car will start from the Kilbirnie Hotel instead of from Lyall Bay. It has been found that practically all the patronage of the car come* from residents between the hotel and the tunne'. The new arrangement will effect a considerable economy in mileage. The new starting time is 6.40 a.m. Members of the New Zealand Association of Hia Majesty's Veterans have been invited by Messrs. Fuller to attend nt His Majesty's Theatre to-morrow nigh* ' to witness the cinematograph picture depicting the recent parade of Balaclava 1 biroeK
