» . PROPOSAL TO RAISE HIS SALARY. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. LONDON, 31st March. Mr. Will 'ihorne, Labour M.P. for West Ham, without the Labour Party's official support, has given notice of a motion to oppose the Prime Minister's proposal to increase the salary of the President of the Local Government Board, Mr. John Burns, from £2000 to £5000 a year. Mr. Balfour, Leader of the Opposition, has given notice of a motion favouring tho increase. This is interpreted as a friendly intimation that the Government's proposal ia not opposed on the i TJnionift side.
