The Union Company advises that the Manuka will not leave Sidney for Wellington on Saturday next till 11 p.m., instead of 3 p.m., the usual time. This will make tlie vessel not due before the afternoon of Wednesday nest. RCAPEHTT, AT MONTE VIDEO. Advice has been received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company to the effect that the R.M.S. Ruapehu. which left Wellington for London on the 10th inst., made a call at Monte Video yesterday, the 30th i;ist. The liner is due at PI \ mouth about the 21st April. BARQUES SPOKEN. The French barque Marie, which left Philadelphia on the 10th January for Ljttelton and Dunedin, with a large cargo of case oil, was spoken sixteen days later in latitude 37deg. N. longitude SCdeg. W. The barque Marjory Ulen, bound from Liverpool to Wellington, was spoken on the 22nd January in latitude sdeg. 8., longitude 32deg. W. The vessel, which was then 42 days out, reported "all well." WAIWEBA AT LONDON. A cable message received by the local agents for the Shaw-Savill Line advises that tho Waiwera, which left Wellington for London on the B>'i February, armed at her destination on the morning of Wednesday last, the 30th March. A MARSEILLES CHARTER. The Italian iron barque King Malcolm, of 1321 tons gross, las been chartered to load tiles at Marseilles for Wellington and Sjdney on behalf of Messrs. Wunderlich, Ltd 1 . The vessel was built at Glatgow in 1883, and is owned at Genoa. PURCHASE OF THE IXGA. It is understood that the price paid by Messrs. R. S. Lamb and Co., timber merchants, of Sydney, for the Norwegian steamer lnga, was £11,000. Messrs. Lamb and Co., who have extensive interests in the timber industry in the north, own a large mill at Eaipara, and they also control the output of several others. The lnga is a steel screw steamer of 714 tons gross and 570 net, with dimensions 215.3 ft by 31.5 ft by 14.Cft. She was built in 1904, and was specially designed for CRrgo carrying. The engines are *by O. T. Grey and Co.. of South Shields. The late owner of the steamer is Mr. D. 8. Meier, of Chnstiania, Norway. OBARI AND FALLS OP NITH. Cable advice announces' the arrival at London of the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Orari, which left Wellington on the 12th February, also of the company's chartered steamer Falls of Kith, which sailed from the Bluff on the 31st January. Before replacing the Maitai in the Vancouver service the Manuka will undergo a partial .survey at Sydney. The barque Rona, which was at Adelaide about the middle of last month, has been chartered to load salt at Edithburg for a New Zealand port. The barquentmes Handa Isle and Pelotas have been fixed to load coal at Newcastle, the former for Auckland, and the latter for Whangaroa. The R.M.S. Otranto, which left Port Melbourne on the 23rd March, Homeward bound, , had the largest number of passengers that lia\o ever left Australia in one vessel. Roughly speaking, those booked up to the 22nd numbered lUOO. As the Otranto carries a crew of 360 all told, she bad about 1300 persons on board when she began her \oyage. With case oils from New York the Austrian tramp Georgia in expected to leave Auckland for Wellington on Monday or Tuesday next. She would then be due about Thursday. Subsequently she goes to Lyttelton and Dunedin. j The four-masted barque Andromeda, from I New York via Wellington, reached Auckland on Wednesday morning. • Owing to rough weather on the East Coast the Monowai will not arrive at Wellington from Auckland, Gisborne, and Napier till tomoirow morning. She sails the tame day. The Maori will leave Lyttelton to-morrow on arrival of the 9.55 a.m. tram from Christchurcli, for Akaroa, to enable passengers to see the Arnst-Whelch sculling match. No passengers will be landed, and the steamer will leave again for Ljttelton immediately the race is over. Cargo shipped at Wellington by the Buteshire was as follow^ :— couu carcases mutton, 5750 carcases lamb. 250 carcases tegs, 17G6 quarters beef, 6000 legs mutton. A call at Rio de Janeiro for coal waa made by the Kaikoura en route from Lyttelton to London on Friday last, the 25th March. The new Gisborne dredge Maui reported "all well" at Melbourne on Monday last. She is due at Auckland for docking about the lOtli April. With a shipment of produce from southern ports the Ennerdale arrived at Auckland on Wednesday, and upon discharge she goes to Greymouth to load timber for Sjdney. Captain Austin, sen., is reported to have taken charge of the steamer Warwick Edward. Till recently he was master of the Fiji Government steamer Ranadi. Captain W. Manning, who has been on holiday leave, has resumed command of the Mararoa. Captain Collins, who was relieving Captain Manning, went ashore at Lyttelton to await orders. Included in the cargo landed at Lyttelton by the Huddart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa from Melbourne, was 450 tons of agricultural and harvesting machinery, which was transhipped to the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Pnparoa, for Bahia Blanca, in the Argentine. The New Zealand Shipping Company's s.s. i Paparoa left Ljttelton this morning for London with a full cargo. The vessel is not taking any passengers, but a number of the crew of the Papanui signed on the Paparou's articles for the passage to London. Captain W. Cozens has gone to Auckland to take charge of the auxiliary ketch Kereru for a trip to Rurotonga and back. According to report, the Waihora was to leave Newcastle jesterday with a cargo of coal for Wellington and Lyttelton. Captain Nicolson, of the collier Kaitangata, has gope down to Ljrttelton to Join the Kurow as master. Captain Edwin, of tho Kotuku, will transfer to the Kaitangata. Mr. J. Hannay. son of Mr. W. Hannay, stationmaster at Ljttelton, is sixth engineer on the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Otaki, which is now in the south. Mr. Hannay left Lyttelton about 14 months ago, and made several voyages from England to the River Plate as fourth engineer of the Kelvindaie. Mr T. H. Miles, chief steward of the Ulimaroa, left the vessel at Melbourne, and proceeded to England to join the new liner Zeatandia, Mr. F. Stone, late chief steward of the Whnmera, transferred to the Ulimaroa in the same capacity. Mr T. Millin went from the Victoria to the Wimmera, while Mr W. Bonnony joined the former vessel. Mr J. Green, late fourth officer of the Makurn, is now on the Warrimoo in a similar capacity.
