Apropos the discussion on the statement by the Sydney correspondent of The Times, that married immigrants to New South Wales were denied employment because they were encumbered with children, Mr. Archibald Marshall, lately special correspondent of tho Daily Mail in Australia, explains and defends the conditions of Australian farm station life. He adds : '"If a husband went to Australia alone, and learned the work and the conditions of settlement, he ought to be able to bring his family out in a year or two years, and provide them with a comfortable home." x A DENIAL. MR. WADE CABLES TO LONDON. MARRIED IMMIGRANTS WANTED. (Received March 31, 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Premier. Mr. G. C. Wade, has cabled to London denying the statement that married immigrants are not wanted in New South Wales, pointing out that the" Government some months ago reduced fares to specially encourage this class of immigrant.
