HUTT RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION.
The Executive Coininiltee of the Hutt Ratepayers' Association met last night. The principal business before the meeting was the appointment of a secretary, which had been left in the hands of the committee. The difficulty experienced was that, although a number of otherwise excellent men were suggested, the committee wa» anxious that the association should be entirely freo tio-n the suspicion of serving party purposes in local politics, and it was not easy to make a select ion which would enable that policy to bo tarried out. 'ivoutuailv tho committee decided to postpone the selection until Saturday next.' It wi,s decided to divide up the area :u the borough into about twenty districts, with a committee for each, so in to interest the residents in tiie management, of the affairs of that part of the borough in which they reside.
