A C3clonic disturbance has docloped northward of East Capu and Kawhia, and the barometer at Russel recoids the lowest reading for a cyclone since SGtii June, 1807. Heavy easterly gales have been experienced with very heavy rain northward of East Cape and Kawhia. Thunder and lightning occurred before midnight in the far north. Gloomy and showery weather has extended southward •» also, and the winds increased during the night in Cook Strait, where south-easterly gales were reported this morning.
