EXCITING INCIDENTS AT SEA.
[BY TELI2OR 4PH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, 26th March. It ie stated that on Wednesday night the master of the scow Winnie, lying at Tryphena, Great Barrier, developer! i violent form of mania, and that with out provocation he ferociously attacked the mate, who, in self-defence, was | forced to handle his assailant very roughly with his fists. The master of the scow was placed on the steamer Waitangi bound for Auckland. Off Cape Colville he jumped overboard. A boat was lowered smartly, and as the man swam strongly in the wake of the steamer he was picked tip and got aboard quickly. On arrival of the Wai tangi in town he war brought before the court and remanded to a mental hospital for observation till Wednesday.
