HURRICANE IN SUVA. GREAT DAMAGE.
MANY BUILDINGS SUFFER. !y Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received March 26, 9 a.m.) SUVA, 25th March. A hurricane caused great damage in Suva. Many buildings were wrecked, and other property extensively damaged. No particulars have yet been received from the country. DUNEDIN, This Day. Private advice regarding the Suva hurricane states that one of the most destructive hurricanes ever experienced struck Suva at 10.30 p.m. on Thursday. The town library was unroofed, and the hulk Sunlight was blown ashoro at Lami creek. It is understood the blow was general throughout the group, and the whole banana crop is destroyed.
