CRIPPLES AT THE PANTOMIME,
■* It in no small matter to give 400 cripple children the time of their lives (said the London Chionide on 21st February) — a time that they will remember and look back upon with delight for years to come. liut this was successfully accomplished by the management of the Alexandra Theatre, Stoke Ncwington, who kindly invited to a matinee performance of "Cinderella" some 400 of Sir William Treloar's little crippled friendb. How they enjoyed themselves, how they cheered the* beautiful Cinderella and her gallant Prince ; and how they yelled with laughter at the absurd im tics of the Baron and IJuioness and the liaron's man of all work ! All the boys immediately enrolled themselves ok Miss Doiothy ltuudell'tf devoted admirers; while many girlish enthuyinstH proclaimed Miss Nellie Wiglf-y an a true Fairytale Piince! A perfect roar of cheers went up when th» beautiful glacs coach,
all ablaze with electric lights, was drawn on the stage by four smart lilUe ponies. When the Mayor of Bloke Newinglon came on the stage between the two act* to propose, on behalf of the children, a vote of thank* to the management, it wns carried by a shout of acclamation that was delightful to hear.
