Kelleway and Emery opened on a pel feet wicket to Cobbe and Greer. The retiring batsman made 48, mostly from singles. Bardsley filled the vacancy, and opened by putting Holland into the pavilion. Both batsmen scored rapidly, aud the second century appeared at 12.30. Numerous changes were tried in the- bowling. Smith got his century, and 250 was hoisted. His end came soon, for he got his leg in front to Groer.
