FIRST-CLASS YACHT RACE.

* The Port Nicholson Yacht Club's annual race for the Mills Memorial Cup was held on Saturday afternoon in a southerly breeze. Tho race Was for firstolass yaobts. Tbo following were the Competitors i— Waitangi, Ngaira, and Siren. A good start was effected, and in Oriental Bay the order of the boats was Siren, Waitangi, and Ngaira. Tho last-named traversed the course under full sail. The Waitangi assumed tho lead in Oriental Bay, and thence was never headed, finally winning from the Ngaira by 40 seconds, after conceding her 17 minutes handicap. The Siren, 20 minutes handicap, was last. Having won the same race previously, the cup is now the property of the Waitangi. Owing to the unfavourable weather, the Te Aro Sailing Club postponed its race for small craft. *
