LESSON OF THE POLLS.
TARIFF REFORM IMPOSSIBLE. LONDON, 19th Jaruary. Mr. Asquith, speaking at Leven, Fifeshire, said that the lesson taught by the polls was that in the new Parliament tariff reform would be a political impossibility. A large number of election returns are published on page 3 of this issue.
