MOTORS v. HORSE VEHICLES.
LONDON GENERAL OMNIBUS COMPANY'S EXPERIENCE. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright (Received December 15, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, 14th December. The chairman of the London General Omnibus Company at a general meeting informed the shareholders that the company's motor-busses had earned £59,000, and that there had been a Icfs of £45,000 on the horse vehicles. The petrol duty imposed by the Budget was the cause of an additional burden of £37,000 annually. The Budget imposed a duty of threepence per gallon on all petrol used for motor vehicles, with a rebate of half the duty in the case of petrol used for motor cabs &nd omnibuses.
