MOTORS v. HORSE VEHICLES.

The chairman of the London General Omnibus Company at a general meeting informed the shareholders that the company's motor-busses had earned £59,000, and that there had been a Icfs of £45,000 on the horse vehicles. The petrol duty imposed by the Budget was the cause of an additional burden of £37,000 annually. The Budget imposed a duty of threepence per gallon on all petrol used for motor vehicles, with a rebate of half the duty in the case of petrol used for motor cabs &nd omnibuses.
