SUEZ CANAL. EXTENSION OF CONCESSION.
OPPOSED BY NATIONALISTS. DUES LIKELY TO BE INCREASED. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received December 15, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, 14th December. The Scotsman newspaper states that the Egyptian Nationalists are bitterly opposing a prolongation of the Suez Canal concessions. The Khedive, however, is unlikely to withhold his assent, as Egypt is in pressing" need of funds, owing to the heavy cost of administrating the Soudan. If the concession is granted, the company will probably be forced to increase the dues, owing to the necessity for large improvements.
