Bank of New Zealand stock, £100 15s; shares, buyers £9 15s, sollors £10 5s ex div. INVERCARGILL WOOL SALES. INVERCARGILL, 14th December. The first of the local season's wool sales was held to-day. About 4600 bales were catalogued, and wore in better condition and sounder than in previous years. Competition was strong, and the catalogue was nearly all cleared. The highest price obtained was 13^d for halfbred owe wool, and the prices all over showed 2d to 4d increase on thoso of last year. The range of prices was as follow: — Half bred, good to super, 12d to 13£ d; medium to good, 10£ dto lljd; inferior, medium, 9d to lOd; fine crossbred, good to super, ll^d to 13d ; medium to good, 10£ dto Hid; inferior, medium, 9£d to 10id; strong crossbred, good to super, lOd to lid ; medium to good, 9d to Sid; inferior, medium, 74d to 72d. CANTERBURY GRAIN MARKET. CHRISTCHURCH, 14th December. There is good enquiry for wheat from the North Island, and several sales out of store have been made at 4s 4£d and 4s 5d f.o.b. No grain is 'offering from the country, but enquiry; is likely to be resumed after the Christmas holidays. Oats are selling in small lots for coastal shipment at quotations. JOHNSONVILLE STOCK SALE. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows: — "We offered a heavy yarding of sheep, and a medium one of cattle, which sold at lato rates. Best bullocks made £9, lighter £3 7s 6d to £8 10s; cows, £4 10d; vealers, 23s 6d to 25s 6d. Good quality wethers, 12s 6d to 13s; lighter, 12s to 12s 4d ; prime ewes, lls ; medium ewes, 9s 6d to 10s; best lamb, 10s 2d to 10s 4d, 9s 6d to 9s 9d; plain, 8s 6d to 8s 9d."
