The health of the High Commissioner (Hon. W. Hall-Jones) has, according to cabled advices, been unsatisfactory of late. On Tuesday it was reported that .he had had another heart attack, but to-day it was reported that he was recovering. Messrs. H. Banfield and E. Phelan arrived by last night's express from Auckland. The former will represent the united furniture trades, and the latter the Auckland timber-workers at their respective conferences, which open on Monday next. Messrs.
