AUSTRALIA THE FIRST TO MOVE. (Received October 29, 10.20 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. With reference to the cable message stating that Sir Joseph Ward was the only public man who had interested himself in. the Suez Canal, Mr. Deakin claims that Australia made the first representations regarding the Canal, and that New Zealand followed.
