The Japanese newspapers state that Prince Ito, who was murdered by a Korean at Harbin, never adopted measures of self-protection, and was always indifferent to people's anger. In answer to demands that Korea should be immediately annexed, the Japanese Foreign Office states that the assassination of the Prince will produce no change of policy. LETTER OF CONDOLENCE FROM KING EDWARD. LONDON, 28th October. King Edward has sent an autograph letter to the Mikado expressing abhorrence at Prince Ito's murder.
