FORECAST. At & a.m. the following forecast was issued ' for the subsequent 24 hours :— Winds.— Northerly winds, increasing moderate to strong, are probable northward of Wanganui and Napier; south-easterly thence southwards, but probably changing to the northward and increasing after from 16 to 24 hours. ' Barometer. — Fall slowly northward of Napier and New Plymouth; rise slowly elsewhere, but falling after 10 hours. Sea.— lncreasing between Castlepoint and Kaikoura after 16 hours, and moderate elsewhere. Tides.— Good generally. Weather.— Warm and humid conditions are probable over the North Island, and unsettled and cloudy weather generally, with showers in many parts. Warning signal for northerly gale will be exhibited at sunrise at Capes Campbell, Farewell Spit, and Foulwind, and at Stephen Island, Nuggeb. Point, and Centre Island. Note.— Local conditions indicate the development of a disturbance to the westward of New Zealand at present, and a. low pressure area is expected to pass in tho South about Monday night with increasing northerly winds Jn the meantime.
