The trough of a small area of westerly low pressure passed south of New Zealand early on Sunday morning, and affected the wind' and the weather south of Napier and New Plymouth. There was considerable rain in the southernmost districts on Saturday night with a north-westerly g.%le. On Sunday the winds changed to the south-west generally with fine leather everywhere.
