CRICKET. THE SCARBOROUGH MATCH.

The match between the Australian cricketers and an All-England Eleven was concluded at Scarborough at 1 o'clock to-day, the Home team winning by 133 runs. The weather was fine and the wicket good for the last stages of the game. There was a moderate attendance of spectators. When play was resumed, Layer put his leg in front to one of Carr's after adding 2to the overnight score. Three for 40. Macartney was run out in a foolish manner at 61, and Bardsley went a run later. Carr, with a googly, disposed of Hartigan. Six for 84. Ransford and Armstrong were then together, and a spell of steady play followed. The century was hoisted foi ninety-five minutes' play. Ransford lost his wicket in attempting to run. out to a short one, and Armstrong fell a victim to one of Carr's googlies.. The seventh wicket fell for 112, and the eighth for 121. Cotter played vigorous cricket, and hit two sixes. Nine for 148. On the fall of Hopkins's wicket, clean bowled by Rhodes, the innings closed for a total of 159, leaving the Englishmen victors by 133 runs. Following were the scores : — ENGLAND.
