THE MUSICAL HELPERS,
For fourteen years the band known as "Musical Helpers" has given its aid wherever it has found "the cause that lacks assistance." Ita services are given free, with the result that practically the net proceeds of its entertainments go to charities. Once a year tho company gives \an anniversary concert, on which it relies for funds to meet the year's expenses and provide the necessary rrflisie. Last night the fourteenth annual concert was held in Wesley Hall, Taranki-street, and notwithstanding tho cold and disagreeable night, there was a gratifyingly large attendance, the room being crowded. It was announced as a "camp concert," and the stage was set accordingly — a tent being surrounded by tree-ferns and palm-lilies. A popular 'programme or excellent glees and ballads, and recitations was gone through, and tho humourous element was not overlooked. Those who took part were Messrs. A. P. Wing, E. G. Peek, Bennett, Cooper (2), Noes, Christie, and 0. F. Jacobson.
