MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Tho Mirainai Borough Council mot last night, tho following, being present — Mr. C. J. Crawford (mayor), and Councillors M'Leod, Brodio, Potersen, and Bell. Advice was received from the Harbour Board regarding the nuw roads which the board proposes to construct at Miramar in connection with the agreement with the council. On the motion of tho Mayor, the plan, submitted by. the board was approved. A report on the condition of tho Old Farm-road Wiia received from tho town clerk. Tho suggestion that it be graded was held over for consideration at next meeting. It was decided to leave improvements of the Seatoun Heights-road to the discretion of the borough engineer. Acceptance wa« notified of the council's terms for tho work to be done giving access to the Golt Terrace Block. The proposal to raise a special loan of £3000 for the purchase of land for a sanitary sito was confirmed. A rate of l-14th of a penny was levied by special order. Complaint was made by Miss Hutchinson, of Hay-street, Seatoun, of a flow of surface water on to her land from adjoining land. She asked the council to drain the property. It was decided that the rouncil should lay the pipes providing that Miss Hutchmson drains her own properij\ Accounts amounting to £333 18s lOd weie passed for payment. The bank balance snows a debit of £455 17s sd.
