FINDING EMPLOYMENT.
With the break in the weather, to-day the gangs of men at Victoria College, >.adestown, and on the Constable-street-Mount Victoria-road, have been given a chance to earn a full day's pay. 'Ihe work of cutting down and general improvement is going forward apace at the College grounds, while the road widening process at Wadestown has received a good start. Mrs. Rhodes is kindly providing the men on the latter undertaking with hot tea. Mr. Willis, the secretary to the Unemployed Fund, acknowledges the following subscriptions, which came in to-day : — Per Mr. Hayes. £1 0s 6d ; musical helpers, £2 2s ; total, £3 2s 6d ; giving a grand total of £1269 17s Bd. • Tho Central Mission Band will play in various, parts of the city to-morrow night, and will take up -collections in aid of the unemployed fund.
