IMPERIAL COMMERCE. THE SYDNEY CONGRESS.
The Hon William Knox, of Sydney, intimated that he had recently received a cablegram from London with reference to the Congress of Chambers of Commerce of tho Empire, and reading as follows: — "One hundred and ten delegates. Cable press facilities arranged." To this he had replied: — "Assume ono hnndred and ten excludes Australia and New Zealand. Accredited press men granted same travelling facilities delegates, federal Government give JBIOOO to increase press facilities in Australia. " The £1000 referred to has already been made available by the Federal Government. Mr. K. Is. Murray, for so long a time secretary of the London Chamber of Commerce, will visit Australia in connection with the congress, find he now apparently holds the office of congress secretary. Arrangements will be made to entertain the ladies who will accompany delegates to the congress. It is anticipated that- there will be a number of lady visitors from all parts of tho Empire, including New Zealand, of course, and it has been thought desirable that they should be suitably entertained by the ladies of Sydney while the business meetings of the congress are in progress.
