TO PROVIDE WORK.
THE UNEMPLOYED FUND. In addition to the amounts acknowledged in yesterday's Post, the following sums have reached Mr. Willis, secretary of the Citizens' Unemployed Relief Fund :—: —
Up to date, Mr. Willis has banked £485, while a further sum of £15 is in hand. The secretary wishes to state that full particulars regarding employment will be available on Monday. A subscription list, which has been started in the General Post Office, Wellington, has £25 on it, and donations are still coming in. To-morrow evening at the Vivianstieet Baptist Church, the Rev. J. J. North will preach on the "Distress in the City" ; its claim on the well-to-do and its message to the community. A retiring collection will be taken up for the unemployed fund.
