The Suffragettes belonging to the Women's Freedom League, who have been endeavouring to approach the Prime Minister in the House of Commons by claiming the Tight of personal petition, also endeavoured to get an audience with the King in Buckingham Palace. His Majesty referred them to the Home Secretary, Mr. H. J. Gladstone. VOLUNTARY STARVATION. (Received July 10, 8.25 a.m.) LONDON, 9th July. One of the suffragettes who had been sentenced to imprisonment was released piematurely, because she starved herself for ninety-one hours, as a protest against being placed to serve in the third division.
