TO CORRESPONDENTS. "Maonlnnder."— We do nofc think that you have adduced anything new in your letter, "Where the Maon Came From." If you read Mr. l'ercy Smith's book "Hawaiki," or looked o\er any volume of the Journal of the Polynesian Society, you would be surpvibed to find how much carelul research has been Riven to the subject, and what a mass of mlormation has been collated. It was a natural and very obvious suggestion that "Hawaiki" was the present Hawaii, but the name is found in some form wherever the Polynesian tainiiy has spread. "East Londonitc." — Result lists are made out at the ofllce of the newspaper, in London. No news of it has been sent to New .Zealand.
