RUGBY FOOTBALL.

In continuation of the senior Rugby championships, Poneke meet Melrose at the Athletic Park to-morrow afternoon, and, as is usual, when these two teams meet, considerable interest i& being taken in the fixture. Poneke still head the championship list, but as one defeat will place them level with Petone, and only one point better than Athletic, each game they play against prominent teams is keenly watched by .enthusiasts. At the. Hutt, Oriental meet Old Boys, and Athletic Junior meet Kia Ora, playing off a game which ended" in a draw in the first meeting. In view of Old Boys defeating Oriental in the first round, and their great game against Poneke last Saturday, this match should' attract a considerable crowd, while the jnior game will attract the followers of tho local team. The other game at the Park is Petone v. Southern. In consequence of the bad state of the ground there will be no early games played there.
