THE AMERICAN ORDER. i The installation meeting of the Southern Gross Lodge of Oddfellows was held last evening, when the following officers were installed in their respective chairs by the District Grand Master (Bio. W. H. P. Barber), assisted by a delegation of Grand Lodge officers: — N. G., Bio. H. Finch; V.G., Bio. L. Bod ley ; Sec, Bro. F. J. Evans ; R. Sec, Bro. A. Bodley ; Treas., Bro. A. Leigh Hunt, lhe other officers appointed were: — Ward., Bro. H. Clarke; Cond., Bro. Tracy; R.S. to N.G., Bro. W. Nash; L.S. to N.G., Bro. S. Curtis; 1.G., Bro. M'Gillivray; 0.G., Bro. Colmer ; R.S. to V.G., Bro. Huddlestone; L.S. to V.G., Bro. Staples; R.S.S., Bro. A. Clark; L.S.S., Bro. Ross. The charges were delivered in an impressive manner by Bio. Barber. In handing over the office of District Deputy Grand Mlaster to his successor (Bro. W. W. Foster), Bro. Barber assured the lodge of his continued interest and desire to advance the interests of th Order. He was accorded a hearty vole of thanks for his past services. In the course of the evening the District Grand Master, on behalf of the lodge, presented handfoinely-framed certificates lo Bio. J. M'Cusker, who has just vacated the office of Noble Grand after a successful term, and Bio. W. Nash, Grand Warden, for valuable services rendered. Bro Nash had not only initiated valuable alterations in the rules, said Bro. Barber, but he had also by his exertions and influence induced a large number of persons to become members.'
