Flying Handicap ; six furlongs. — Pearl Reef, 9.4, 1 : Mimnamutio, 9.11, 2; Pluck, 9.9, 3. All started. Won by a neck. Time, lmin 19 2-ssec. Steeplechase ; three miles. — Te Arai, 11.6, 1 ; Mozart; 10.2, 2. Only starters. Won by a length. Time, 6min 29sec. At the annual meeting of the Waikanae Hack Racing Club, t'ne following were elected officers : — Pation, Mr. Field, M.P. ; president, Mr. W. Howell j vice-presidents, Messrs. G. Tully, Duncan, and Taylor; judge, Mr. F. Roe; clerk of scales, Mr. J. Kent; clerk of course, Mr. A. Robinson ; starter, Mr. R. A. M'Donald; handicapper, Mr. U. Shannon ; lion, surgeon, Dr. Huthwaite ; secretary, Mr. J. Muir ; treasurer, Mr. Howell ; stewards, Messrs. Carter, Smith, Mackay, Gillies, Gronin, Silvester, Hehir, Parata, Vickers, Freeman, and Barclay ; auditors, Messrs. Williams and Silvester. It was resolved that all the stewards be a protest committee, and that the stake money be the same as last year. .
