WEDNESDAY "POPS."

The Wednesday "Pop" at the Townf Hall is now an established fact, and, judging by the support already accorded the Wellington Professional Orchestra in its new enterprise, has come to stay. Last Wednesday numbers were unable to obtain admission. The management will,' on Wednesday next, give £1 to each 500 th person purchasing a one shilling ticket at the doors. Arrangements have been completed with Miss Estelle Beere, who will present three spectacular dances. Miss Beere's efforts in this direction have always been appreciated by the public, and on this occasion the items to be submitted will be unique. Mrs. Orr Loring (soprano), specially engagpd from Dunedin, will sing some favourite songs. Miss Baker (contralto), who mol with such a good reception hist Wednesday, will sing "The Enchantress," and the other vocalist will bfi }!r. Bnines (baritone), who will make his first appearance at these concerts. The third stage of the children's singing competitions will be taken, and on this occasion four schools will be represented. Thp.se contests arp now attracting considerable interest, and as the singing is of a fnirly high order, the finals should be very close. The orchestra will also play some characteristic items, including "Aubade Prinlaniere," by Laoombe. The box plan is open at the Dresden.
