RESULTS. Karori 8 v. V.M.C.A. 5. United 4 v. Wellington 1. Victoria College 3 v. Wesley 1. Vivian 2 v. Thorndon 0. All senior men's hockey matches were played at Day's Bay. The grounds were .dry, and the consequence was that play for the most part was exceedingly fast. V.M.C.A. received a check from Karori, and Victoria College scored its second win of the season by suppressing Wesley. United and V.M.C.A. are' now a tie for the first place for the championship,, with Karori one point' behinp. KARORI (8) v. V.M.C.A. (5). An interesting game was played on ICo. 1 ground between Karori and Y.M.G.A. Play was very fast, the former having slightly the betteivthroughout. At the end of the first spell the score was— Karori, 6; V.M.C.A., 1. In the second half the latter made a recovery, and while Karori added a couple more points, V.M.'s scored four times. Towards the end of the game, Gendall, of Karori, received a nasty knock on the head from the ball. The scorers were : — For the winners, G. Da vies (3), Willis (2), Fulton (2), and Elias (1) ; for the losers, R. H. Parton (4) and Carde (1). Mr. South wicke refereed. VIVIAN (2) v. THORNDON (0). Wellington and United met on No. 3 ground, and provided fas t, and, at times, monotonous play. The game from the bully was of a rather even character, both sides^in turn attacking vigorously. United should have scored several goals soon after tho game commenced, but their circle play was ineffective. They were, nevertheless, showing good combination, and dashing play at this stage of the game. The half-time whistle went, with United 1, scored by Organ ; Wellington 0. On resumption of play United attacked, and Elliot made a shot at goal, which was very cleverly saved by the opposing goalkeeper. ElHot was, however, soon at it again, and' 4>ent a beautiful shot home. Wellington now rallied, and after several attempts by their players to score, Walton registered Blues' first goal. United were not yet satisfied, and after some up-and-down play, Elliot notched his second goal, this time from a very difficult angle. Another five minutes play saw Hollis scoro the Reds' fourth goal. Mr. Morpeth was referee. VICTORIA COLLEGE (3) v. WESLEY (1) A hard game was fought between Victoria College and Wesley. The latter was the first to score, Curgenven finding the net. Before half-time, Boyle, R. Beere, and D. Smith all scored for College. No scoring was done in the second spell The referee was Mr. S. I Hickso;: JUNIOR. St. Patrick's College Old Boys defeated Wellington by 11 goals &0. The scorers were — Francis (3), F. Ryan (3), J. Quinn .(2), 'W. Ryan,' .Miller, and Mahoney. .Metropolitan defeated United by 9 goals to 1. Hall (4), [Mackenzie (5), Burbush, and Wriglcy scored for the winners. Gregg's 7, V.M.C.A. 3. The scorers for the winners were Benge (2), Bonnington (2), Krebs (2), and Baillie. The losers' goals were hit by Aitken, Eyres, and 'Martin. Pc-tone 4, Victoria College A 3. Williams. Turner, Noble, and Webley scored for Petone, and Oram and Castle for College. >Mr. Wheatley was referee. The Government Life team defeated Victoria College B by 2 goals to 1. For the winners Bennet (2) scored, and Fair for College. Vivian and Thcrndon met on a rough bumpy ground at Miramar. and two Thorndon men were hurt. Vivian won by Bto 2. Goals were notched for the winners by Forbes (6), Coleman, and Donovan, and for the vanquished by Lamper and ■ Ml'Clintock. Mr. Hollis was referee. Karori beat Wesley by 2 goals to nil, F, Spiers and A. Cathie scoring. 1 THIRD CLASS. Victoria College A (12), Petone (0). Government Insurance, 2; Victoria College B, 1. Taylor and Coldicutt scored for ihe winners. Their goalkeeper, Downing, played a fine game. Wellington, 5 ; Wesley, 1. The winners' goals were got by Gooder (2), Lawrie (2), and 'lhirkell; and the losers' by Down. Play was fasfc and open. Metropolitan thrashed St. Patrick's College Old Boys to the tune of 12 to nothing. The scorers were Guise (6), Gower (3), M* Naught, Smith, and Irvine. Mr. Wilson was referee.
