EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The Eastbourne Borpugh Council met on Saturday. There were present; — The Mayor "(Mr. John Barr), Councillors Robertson, Ross, Russell, Organ, Sanson, Wills, and Mackenzie. Councillor Mackenzie was appointed to represent the council on the Hutt Park Committee. A recommendation of the Public Works Committee that a sump and drain be put down to carry off storm water from Cox's, Muritai, was adopted. 'According to the Borough Solicitor, section 26 of the Public Works Act would not ?pply to the proposed acquisition by the council of foreshore at Rona Bay. It was resolved that the Town Clerk report fully on the matter at next meeting. Enforcement by by-law 17 relative to proper vehicle crossings over channels and footpath* was left to the Town Clerk and the foreman-ol'-works. The seal was affixed to the legal form of notice of non-admission of claim for compensation made by Miss J. Cameron, relative to land taken for recreation purposes. Instructions were given to the Town Clerk tb take steps to have Rona-street extension dedicated to the council. Accounts amounting to £13 13s 5d were passed for payment.
