FINED FOR CIGARETTE-MAKING.
[BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, This Day. In the Polico Court this morning, George Moody, tobacconist, was charged with making cigarettes by hand without having a warrant to do so. ■ The Collector of Customs said defendant had employed a cigarette-maker to make cigarettes in his window during Industries Week. The Customs looked upon the manufacture of cigarettes without a warrant as a serious matter, as when tobacco was cut up it was impossible to trace where it came from. Defendant pleaded ignorance of the law on the matter, and said he had made no attempt to make ciguiotte* cocretly. i A fine of £10 wae imposed, with coste.
