PAGEANT AT FULHAM PALACE. By Telegraph —I'resß Association .--Copyright. LONDON, lltn June. The church pageant has been opened at Fuliiam Palace (the residence of the Bishop of London). There arc 4000 actors, and it is expected the spectacle will be witnessed by 80,000 persons. The pageant is designed to represent, great events in church history, beginning in the earliest times. Two performances are given each day, one in ihe morning and one in the aiternoon. Among the scenes presented are the arrival of St. Angustino in Britain, the death of Thomas A'Beckett, the trial of Wyclif, the coronation of Edward VI., and the execution of Archbishop Laud. The grounds of Fulham Palace are admirably adapted for an exhibition of this kind, and for additional accommodation of spectators atn attractive grandstand has been erected. There will be seating for nearly 7000 persons, in addition to the space reserved for the commodious Royal box. About, an acre of ground is covered by the stand, which has a> frontage of 394 ft and a depth of 90ft. -The roof and it*, supports, resting, on concrete, are constructed wholly of steel weighing 150 tons altogether. The amount of timbei used for the wood construction is the impressive quantity or 27,000 cubic feet, the total weight bein^ estimated at about 400 tons.
