A BOXING CONTEST.
FAILURE TO OBTAIN A PERMIT. [BY TB&EGRAPH — MtESS ASSOCIATION.] 1 GISBOIINE, This Day. In the cases in which Crawford, Heiily, and others were chaiged with engaging in a boxing contest, for which a permit had not been obtained, the Magistrate inflicted a fine of os, remarking that the contest appeared to have been conducted in an orderly manner, and there was nothing objectionable, except that the promoter had failed to obtain the necessary permit. Regarding the cases in which sixty person* were charged with being present at the contest, the Magistrate thinks it would be impossible to inflict any puni"liinent. He dismissed their, under the provision of section 92 of the Justices of the Peace Act.
