At 4.15 o'clock this morning, the New Bealand Shipping Company's direct steamer Wakanui arrived in the Stream from London and Plymouth, via Teneriffe, Capetown, and Hobart. Shilling, and at 9.25 a.m. was fast alongside No. G, Queen's Wharf. The WaKanui's voyage from England was on the whole destitute of incident. She left London on the 20tli April, and Plymouth two days later. Fine weather was met with on the run down the English Cnannel, hut on leaving Plymouth a strong S.S.W. gale was encountered, hringmg with it a heavy sea that lasted until the vessel had hah' crosbed the Buy of Biscay. Teneriffe was reached on the 2Sth April, and the Wakanui left again the same day. Moderate trade winds and fine weather were experienced on each side of the ' equator, which was crossed on the sth Maj. Capetown was reached on the 15th May, and after a- stay of a few hours the voyage was resumed on the same day. The long run across the Southern Ocean was on the 1 whole marked by fine weather, no ice beini; seen from the vessel. These favourable conditions lasted till Hobart was reached on Saturday last. There being a quantity of cargo to be discharged, tho vessel did not get away for Wellington till noon on Monday. Exceedingly fine weather and smooth sea marked the final stage of the voyage, and lasted till port was made. Captain V. C. White-Parsons is still in command of the Wakanui, and has associated with him the following officers .-—Chief, Mr. J. B. Makepeace (late of the KaiUoura); second, Mr. R. G. Coyte; third, Mr. H. L. Upton; fourth, Mr. P. M. Black; ship's surgeon, Dr. Carswell; chief steward, Mr. H. E. Taylor; chief engineer, Mr. G. Wehawsen; second, Mr. W. Bence; third, Mr. R. Boyd : fourth, Mr. W. Mackay; fifth, Mr. W. Fouhy; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr. J. Calder; second, Mr. \V. Wootton. The Wakanui brought 2290 tons of general cargo for Wellington, and upon discharge will leave, probably on Wednesday next, for Ljtteiton. THE TA*INUI. This morning the Shaw-Savill Company's large steamer Tainui arrived from Gisborne, and berthed for loading purposes at the Glasgow Wharf. The vessel will fill up and bunker at tin's port, and is to leave for London, via Monte Video, Tenerifle, and Plymouth, on Thursday next. LEAVING FOX LONDON. On Monday the New Zealand-Canadian stehmer Indravelli is due from Vancouver, via Suva and Auckland. She brings 310,000 ft of timber for Wellington and 47 tons of general cargo. i The cargo steamer Arrino, which is to load under charter to Mr. G. H. Scales, left Sydney at 7 a.m. yesterday for Timaru and the Bluif. Pilot Dawson, of the Harbour Board's staff, has been confined to the house for a week by an uttack of influenza, but is now recovering.
