Four cargoes of Australian wheat have been sold at 43s 10£ d, 44b, 44s l|d, and 44s 3d per quarter respectively. Silver is quoted at 24 3-16 d per ounce. MELBOURNE, 10th June. At tho hido sales to-day supplies wore modorote. There was active competition, and prices were firm, especially for kips. Prices last week were as follow :—Picked stouts, 7d to Bid; prime stouts, 6^d to 7id; medium, sijl to 6d ; scored or sloppy, 5d to 5-^d; kips (well flayed), s|d to &id; scored or sloppy, s^d to s?d; yearlings, sJfd to 52d ; calf skins, light (free from cuts), 6ijd to 7Jjd; cut or damaged, 3£d to 33d per Ib. ; horso hides, 5s to 10s each. • DUNEDIN ST.OCX EXCHANGE. HIDE SALES. CANTERBURY GRAIN. CHRISTCHURCII, 10th June. The grain giown this season and carried over the railways' in Canterbury from Ist February to 31st May, totalled 1,570,000 sacks, as against 850,000 sacks for tho same period last year, the inoreasc being 720.000 sacks. The figures quoted do not include (for either year) the grain carried from stores at Timaru to ship3_ at Timaru, nor grain from stores at Aldington and Christchurch to ships au Lyttelton. There are large quantities of grain still in the country districts still awaiting carriage over the railways.
