At the State banquet, in honour of the visit of the German Emperor, the Emperor Francis-Joseph, in proposing the Kaiser's health, expressed his gratitude to his guest for his peaceful endeavours at a moment when peace was exposed to many dangers. In his reply, the Kaiser referred to the vitality of the Triple Alliance, which had recently contributed to the preservation of European peace. The Emperors jointly telegraphed to the King c 0c 0 Italy assurances of their unalterable friendship.
