WELLINGTON HOMING PIGEON SOCIETY.
On Saturday the last Cup race of the season was flown from Culverden, a distance of 142 miles. Forty-six birds, representing 11 lofts, competed, and the winning bird flew the distance in 3hrs. 52mins., securing for his owner the trophy donated by Mr. M. G. Grenside. The race resulted as follows: — Mr. R. Lewis's No. 589, velocity 1080 yards per minute, 1; Mr. J. J. Elliott's No. 486, 1057, 2; Mr. W. Ahler's No. 133, 1051. 3; Mr. J. H. Clark's No. 259, 105u, 4 ; Mr. C. Haynes's No. 499, 1049, 5 ; Mr. R. Powell's No. 306, 1042, 6. For most points in all races, Mr. X H. Clark wins the Maritime Champion Trophy, and for most points in young bird races, Mr. A. Clark wins the Cup.
