A westerly area of low pressure passed the Bluff on Saturday afternoon, and a cyclonic movement appears off the west coast of the North Island to-day with strong westerly winds north of Auckland, and easterly and j southerly winds iv the southern districts. Rain has fallen in most parts of the country, and j the weather hab been generally mild and showery. Theie is still a possibility of a further fall of the barometer in the southern districts though the balance of probabilities lavour a slow rise after from 16 to 20 hours.
