WEATHER PROSPECTS. (Bt Telegraph. — Pbess Association..] GISBORNE, This Day. Referring to weather prospects and meteorological subjects, Mr. Wragge states : "Between the 15th and 24th of this month conditions will be very favourable for earthquake and volcanic action in various portions of the world where the earth's crust is weak, and we may reasonably expect manifestations in New Zealand. Ngauruhoe may burst out again, and probably White Island, with other seismic action. Solar conditions form a salient factor, combined with the astronomical position of the moon. Before 'Millar' ceases to influence New Zealand, strong south-westers, with heavy squalls and areas of rough seas, will be experienced on the southwest coast. Later on, as the rear half of 'Millar' sweeps on towards west longitude, the east coast will probably experi ence strong winds and swells from the south-west', inclined to shift to the south-east. A new Antarctic disturbance, 'Massey,' is now over the upper forties south from the Australian Bight, and will affect New Zealand, as far as can at present be calculated, between the 17th and 23rd."
