Roland Hastings, aged 21, was admitted to the hospital yesterday to be treated foV severe injuries received by his thigh while he was playing football on Saturday. Hastings resides at Brooklyn. The hospital authorities report, this afternoon, that his condition snows no alteration from what it was when he was admitted to the institution.
Sir Joseph Ward Informed a Post reporter to-day that he is at present unable to staie who will represent the Dominion at the conference on naval matters. It appears to be certain, however, that the Prime Minister himself will not be able to attend. Mr. C. E. Fabian, who was fined £5 by Mr. Justice Chapman this morning for non-attendance on the grand jury, appeared before his Honour- as the court re-opened this afternoon. He explained that family troubles had caused his absence. His Honour remitted the fine. Messrs. Levien, Shallcrass and Co. advertise a sale of furniture and effects to be held at their rooms to-morrow afternoon, at 2 o'clock, and also the particiilars of a large quantity of effects seized under bill of sale, to be dispoed of at the Earns time.
