AN ACTION FOR DAMAGES. [BY TELEGEAPH — PBESS ASSOCIATION.] EKETAHUNA, This Day. A case set do\vn for hearing at next sitting of the District Court in Masterton is that of H. Pithie v. Herbert, ex-Mayor of Eketahuna, and the Express Newspaper Company. The claim against defendants is for £100 damages jointly and~ severally, or, in the alternative for alleged defamatory words of and concerning plaintiff, in his capacity as a drain contractor, alleged to have been spoken by the defendant Herbert, and published in the defendant newspaper.
