1 DETAILS OF THE TRAGEDY. C.BT TELEGKAPH — PBESS ASSOCIATION. J GREYMOUTH, This Day. Later details of the fatal fire at Brunner show that the Watchmans returned home at 12 o'clock from a social. The fire was discovered at 1.30 a.m., but the cause is unknown. The victims are Jane Watchman, aged 17 years, and Elizabeth, aged fiveyears. Both made an effort to get out, but were apparently overcome by smoke. All the other inmates escaped by jumping from second-story windows.
