In a paragraph published in yesterday's issue, it was stated that "packets of candles imported from Australia are being sold in Wellington just now under conditions which are said to be unfair to local' makers." The complaint made was that the packets only hold fourteen ounces gross weight. The local agents for a candle-manufacturing firm now write to correct the statement made in the paragraph. The firm in question states that the weight of the packet of candles (sample enclosed) ia about 1450Z net, not gross, and on the packet is the sentence, "These candles are sold by the packet, which contains six candles, ' not in unobtrusive type. The firm also forwards for comparison a packet of candles made locally. Players on the Miramar hockey grounds will probably find them somewhat rough this week, as considerable difficulty has been experienced in getting them ready at all, but steps are being taken to improve .them for Sat-
