Weather.— B, blue bky, be the atmosphere clear or heavy; C, clouds, passing clouds; D, dnzaling rain; X, foggy; G, gloomy, dark weather; H, hail; L, lightning; M, misty; O, overcast, the whole bky covered with thick clouds; P, passing showers; Q, squally, R, rain, continued rain; S, suow; T, thunder; ■U, ugly, threatennig appearance. THE FUTURE. At 9 a.m. the following forecast was issued for the subsequent 24 hours : — Wind.— Westerly winds, strong to gale are probable generally. Barometer.— Fall slowly northward of Napier and New Plymouth; unsteady, but falling everywhere else. Sea.— Heavy on all western coast and rough south of Castlepoint ; moderate elsewhere. Tiduo.— -High on the west coast of the North Island, iiici easing on the west, coast of the South Inland; moderate all other ports. Rain is probable generally and very unsettled weather for a few days. Warning signal ior wester!} gale is exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen and Tiritan (East Cape interrupted), also at Capes Camubell, Foulwind, Farewell Spit, Stephens Island, Nugget Point, aud Centre Island.
